Panthers Honor Long-Time Coach With Memorial Tournament

Spring Hill Panther Tennis will pay tribute to the legacy of a former coach today at the Holly Ford Memorial Tournament.

Ford worked as a coach and teacher at Spring Hill for 22 years before retiring in 2018. Under her direction Panther tennis teams won several district championships. In 2015 the team placed third at the UIL 4A State Team Tournament. That same year Ford was named Texas Tennis Coaches Association Coach of the Year in Class 4A.

“Holly had a great influence on this program for many years and has helped more teachers, coaches, and students than we will probably ever know about,” said Spring Hill tennis coach Will Stewart. “She helped me get started when I took this job in 2019 and was a source of advice for me until her passing. She was a fantastic coach who cared deeply about her players.”

Ford passed away in January 2020. She was inducted into the Texas Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame later that year.
