February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month!

Spring Hill High School offers a variety of CTE Programs of Study to provide students the opportunity to gain the academic, technical, and employability skills necessary for true career readiness.

“Almost every one of our students will take at least one CTE course before they graduate,” said Adrian Knight, Assistant Superintendent of Career and College Readiness. “Nearly 80% of our students will take at least two courses in the same Program of Study.”

This school year Spring Hill students have earned more than 200 industry-based certifications in the areas of Construction, Welding, Electrical Technology, Digital Media, and Culinary Arts. For the 2022-2023 school year, students will have the opportunity to earn dual credit through Welding, Health Science, and Education & Training programs.

“Our goal at Spring Hill ISD is to align our CTE Programs of Study with labor market information that we receive from the state,” Knight said. “We encourage all of our students to pursue high-demand, high-wage occupations to increase the likelihood they will become employed and earn a salary that allows them to support a family. Almost all of these high-demand, high-wage occupations require some education and/or training after high school, and our counselors do an excellent job of helping our students become college ready.”
