Administration - Superintendent
As Interim Superintendent, I want to convey my most heartfelt “Welcome Back Home” to all our students, parents, faculty, and staff as we begin the school year 2014-2015, The Greatest Year Ever. The summer months here, even though they passed quickly, have been busy with the closing of 2013-14 and the preparation for 2014-15. We have missed our faculty, who returned on August 18, and our student body, who return on August 25. Our Administrative Staff spent many hours this summer in selecting personnel, updating handbooks, preparing schedules, and establishing an environment that will provide the greatest setting in which our children are to learn. Spring Hill ISD is an academic island in East Texas that provides an outstanding institute of learning from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. In this time of great change in education across Texas, it is a necessity for our District to be able to continue to offer our tradition of academic excellence but also be ready to make changes in order to meet the needs of every student.
The District is committed to providing an academic foundation that is second to none. The SHISD Board of Trustees is dedicated to seeking sources of revenue that will fund this commitment. I have always had the philosophy of “If we are going to do it, we are going to be the best at it”. The ”it” in this statement ranges from the classroom to the athletic field, from Literary to Vocational, from Fine Arts to Welding Shop, and from the Heart of a SHISD Panther to the Pride of the Spring Hill Community. We are in Partnership with you and need your support and encouragement in all of these “its”.
I look forward to my time spent as a Panther and will promise that together we can maintain what you have built, yet produce growth where needed. Our slogan this summer has been “Welcome to Paradise”.
