Dress Code - General Guidelines

Coats for Kids:

This year Mrs. Haney's eighth grade student leadership classes partnered with Longview Community Ministries and KLTV to help collect coats and jeans for needy families here in Longview. The leadership classes challenged our 2/3 classes to compete to see who could collect the most coats and jeans. The class who brought the most got to silly string Mr. Moore and Mr. Lynch and of course their teacher at our October 29th pep rally.

The SHJH faculty and students went above and beyond raising over 706 coats and jeans. Mr. Bourdon's class did the silly stringing with his class alone bringing 148 coats and jeans. Mrs. Pleasant was in second place with 123 and Mrs. Parker's class came in third with 105. We collected 254 coats and 452 pairs of jeans which was enough to win the KLTV Coats for Kids Challenge and now Mark Scirto, the weatherman from Channel 7 KLTV, will be honoring our campus by coming soon to recognize our contribution to this great cause.

Thank you so much to all who helped make this drive a great success.
